Our Community
Bruins in Finance and Banking (BFB) is a student-run organization dedicated to preparing undergraduates for careers in investment banking, private equity, and related fields. We provide workshops, technical training, networking, and mentorship to equip members with the skills and connections to succeed.
Our Approach
Education
New members must first complete our accelerator program, teaching each student everything from creating a DCF to acing interviews. We also provide continuing education through our general meetings, guest speakers, and recruitment support, to get each and every member career-ready.
Member Projects
BFB members apply their skills in quarterly projects, working in teams to rise to the top among their peer groups and gain relevant experience in their desired field. Past projects have included investment pitches, fixed income case studies, M&A simulations, and many more.
Guest Speakers
Through our guest speaker events, members can learn more about potential career paths after graduation and network with industry professionals. From hedge funds in New York to private credit in Los Angeles, BFB builds connections with firms across industries and geographies to prepare our future leaders in finance.
Community
Above all, BFB strives to create a community in which each member can grow both personally and professionally. Whether it is team dinners after meetings, forming committees to pursue additional career preparation, or going on club retreats, we aim to maximize the experience our members have here at UCLA.

Recruitment Process
Each fall and winter quarter, we recruit and develop top UCLA students with a strong interest in finance, banking, and related fields. We host an information session early on in these quarters to introduce our club and share insights into our recruitment process. Candidates then send in their applications, and selected applicants will continue through the interview process to become new BFB members.
